Compaq Presario 1000 Notebooks Modem Driver

Compaq Presario 1000 Notebooks Driver. Not listed as working w/ 1000 notebooks, but appears to. I have a 1070. The modem did not show in the device manager until installed drivers using control panel/modem and "have disk", then showed up (after boot, I think) in allegedly operating order. Haven't tried the modem, though. Would suggest calling Compaq for a restore disk, I did that today, $10.50 by regular first class mail, it would provide all utilities, drivers, and presumably make sure you have a proper diagnostic (presumably hibernate, too) partition. Partitioning by yourself, for the birds. Suspect you get your operating system, too (most restore disks do that).
