Compaq MI-5614PM3 Driver. This is for the CIS (Wisecom) WS/MI-5614PM3 56K HCF windows modem.

Download Softpaq (4.23Mb) into a new directory. Execute SP8897.exe to expand it in your new directory.

In SAFE mode, remove any unused modems or ports. Run PRESETUP.EXE to clear previous installations of this modem. Run SETUP.EXE to create the HCF Modem Enumerator and the HCF Modem.

Use +MS=V90,,,,,44000 in Extra Settings. This recommends v.90 and limits the speed to 44kbps (in order to prevent retrains, stalls, and disconnects).

The HCF firmware is revision 2.1.2.134. Once you have this installed, you may wish to try an HCF firmware update from

which includes .154 firmware for NT.
