installing modem (this is a hsf chipset in the presario 1200-XL500)
unzip file to c /modem directory or in c /windows/system
make sure no current pci device installed (modem or anything else)
go to add new hardware
select other devices
select have disk
point to modem directory you unzipped to
select generic pci enumerator
next. next. finish.
this will find your modem when its done. (may have to point back to modem directory and choose generic hsf pci data fax modem)
reboot and start surfing.
have any problems go to www.conexant.com and follow links for modem help
need to get the hsf generic drivers for win98. instructions are here also.
